Led by Speech 4 Each Vice President Mimi Davison, The Young Authors Project was established in 2023 through the Hockaday Social Impact Writing Center Internship. Created to empower elementary school students in their writing skills, Young Authors interns guide students through the process of writing their very own books that they can then share with their classmates and families. As the students write their stories, they become more confident in their understanding of grammar, punctuation, and more advanced vocabulary. The students are able to find joy and power in their own writing capabilities and subsequently ignite a lifelong passion for articulating their voice and story through words.
